May 28th-May31st, The Greatest Adventure
Planning has been underway for ROCKS 2019 for several months now. This year the directors have already visited the Sunday school classes, to once again ask for assistance with funding the ROCKS (Our Vacation Bible School) event. For those that do not attend a Sunday school class please feel free to donate at anytime by placing your envelope marked with ROCKS in the offering during any church service. If you would like your donation to be shown on your yearly giving summary, please write your offering envelope number on your check or on the outside of the envelope. We will also have a ROCKS table in the foyer with a box to put donations in on Sunday Mornings.
The cost breakdown for the past several years has averaged out to $30 per child to attend ROCKS. Each child will receive a craft each day, a shirt, bible, and enjoy snacks while attending ROCKS. The money also goes to cover the expense of busing children to and from Tyro from multiple bus stop locations in the surrounding areas, as well as some advertising and decorating costs. We are so blessed with a supportive congregation that steps up to help cover the cost, so each child can come and learn God’s word. If each Sunday School attendee donates 3 dollars per week, we would easily meet these needs.
Mark your calendar for May 28th-31st to join us for ROCKS! We will need many workers to help make this week happen for all the children who will come through our doors. On March 24th we will be handing out Commitment forms or you can come see us at the ROCKS table set up in the foyer. This is one way that you can sign up to help with ROCKS. You are encouraged to sign up early, if you want to be with a particular age group, please contact Amber Pond (620-330-7182) or Rachel Perkins (620-515-1106) and they will put you in that slot!
We still need to borrow approximately 20 Christmas trees for ROCKS. Label your tree and box and place them by the ROCKS table in the foyer.
Amber Pond, Rachel Perkins, Kim Betts, Ken and Carolyn Daily, Anne Martin and Sherry Perkins

TCC Family, I am so grateful for all the canned goods, rice, pasta, tea, and hotdogs that you collected for me. I’m going to make it threw a couple more months because of your generosity. Thank you.
I am truly blessed to have family to help me get through this very rough journey of divorce after 27 years of marriage. God is providing for my needs before I even ask Him for help.
Thank you all for being an answer to my prayers. I would please ask for your prayers: That the judge is fair in his ruling and he makes his ruling soon ( been waiting since September 10th); that Jerry finds his way back to God, even if I’m not a part of his life anymore; and that God guides me to a job that will cover the income gap and I am physically able to do.
Thank you Brothers and Sisters in Christ and may He rain blessings on you. Sincerely, Beverley Batman Collins

Church Family, Thank you for all the prayers, hugs, flowers, phone calls, and visits after the loss of our mom, Ellie Sumpter. We could not have a better example of Christ like love than all our friends at TCC. Mom loved attending Tyro and seeing her dear friends, attending programs, and praising God. She was sad when her health kept her from attending but she always loved her church. We have peace and comfort knowing that she is with Jesus and many of her family and friends in heaven. We will miss her, but we will see her again. We appreciate each act of kindness. God Bless, The Family of Eleanor Sumpter

TCC Family, Thank you for the love and concern you showed us in the days after my moms stroke and then passing. We appreciated your prayers, cards, gifts, calls, words of encouragement, and the lovely plant sent for her service. We certainly felt your prayers as we made tough decisions at the hospital and then in planning her victory service too. Our Gracious Father answered those prayers in many beautiful ways! We are grateful. With Love, Tim and Julie Rice and Family

Around the World in 80 Seconds
We would like to invite you to pray for Steve and Shanthi Bycroft, veteran missionaries to Sri Lanka, everyday during the month of February.
On January 2016, Steve and Shanthi believed they were coming to the US for a 6 month medical furlough. Since then, three years have passed; three very long years of cancer treatments. Shanthi is receiving chemo for spots on her lungs and liver, and tumors around her bladder and kidney. She has one more treatment before her progress can be determined with a final CAT scan. If she has stabilized, her doctor will release her to travel to Sri Lanka. She’s also awaiting cataract surgery. Please ask for our Powerful Lord to miraculously heal Shanthi. It has also been three very long years during which they haven’t seen their children (visa issues kept their kids from traveling to the US.) It is heartbreaking for the Bycrofts to have lost these years with their children. Please ask our Loving Father to reunite this family very soon

ROCKS Ministry Opportunity
Are you willing to drive a bus for our ROCKS Ministry this year? May 28th – May 31st are the dates. We need drivers (CDL required), bus stop supervisors and riders. We want to get started early to get our spots filled. Please contact Kenny Daily (620-515-4708) if you are interested.
Please remember to say thank you to the volunteers that have your child during Church and Sunday school services. This is a great way of showing Gods LOVE!
We are needing volunteers in Sunday morning services. When you pick your child up from the classroom, you will see a help needed list. If you are willing to help in this area, it would be greatly appreciated. We have started doing back ground checks and there is a form that you will need to fill out. If you are interested, please see Joyce.
Parents please start praying about our Jr. ROCKS Week that is coming fast. Mark your calendars for May 28th-31st. Our theme is “The Greatest Adventure” 2 Corinthians 11:26. We would love to have you help in any way that you can during this week.
During the year of 2019, we (the Building Blocks area) will be memorizing 52 different scriptures. I encourage the families to become a part of this. We will learn one verse each week. I know that the children can memorize scripture, what about us big kids? If you have not received a copy of the verses, please see Joyce
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
“Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
We will be having a Discover Class on Sunday, February 17th at 10:00am in the auditorium kitchen. The class is an opportunity to learn much more about Tyro Christian Church and to fellowship. Our goal is that you would have any questions you may have about Tyro Christian Church answered in this session, so that you may know what/who we are about and why we do the things we do.
After the 2nd service (11:00am service), you are invited to lunch in our gymnasium. This is an act of gratitude on our part in thanking you for coming to Tyro Christian Church. Jared Jabben’s Sunday School class will be in charge of the meal.
Save the date. Our annual plant swap will be held on April 13th. Check-in will start at 8:30am and the swap will begin at 9:15. More details next month.
