We’ve answered some of the most common questions for you, below.
What Kind of Church is Tyro Christian?
In short, we are a Bible-based, Christ-centered church. We have no denominational affiliation. We have no creed but Christ and no book but the Bible. This means the Bible is our ultimate authority on all matters of faith and life. Our prayer, hope and goal is that everyone connected to our local church would grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
What Should I Wear?
Come as you are. People dress in anything from blue jeans & t-shirts to polos & khakis to dresses to button up shirts with a tie. Dress in whatever is comfortable for you. We couldn't be more thrilled to have you join us.
How Long are the Services?
On a typical Sunday morning, service will last about 70 minutes (+/-).
Is There a Place for My Kids?
Jesus loves the little children...
...and so do we!
We want you (and your kids) to feel safe in our church and fully understand it is your parental nature to keep your kids close, especially in a new environment. So, please feel free to keep your children with you during the services.
We offer a secure nursery area, for newborns through kindergarten, where your children will spend the service doing age appropriate activities.
Additionally, we offer a secure children's area (We call it the Faith Factory), for 1st - 6th graders, where there is activities and a specific church service, designed just for them.
Jr High and older are encouraged to participate in church service, with the rest of the congregation, in the main auditorium.
How Does the Check-in Process Work in the Children’s Areas?
At the entrance of both the nursery and the Faith Factory (children’s area), there are check-in stations; computers with label/sticker printers, to check your children into one of these areas. Simply follow the instructions on the screen. The check-in process is complete when you receive two printouts; an identification and name sticker for the children and an identification number for the parent(s).
Affix the sticker, with the child's name to the appropriate child and take them in to the appropriate area.
When you are ready to pick up your children, only a parent with the matching identification number sticker can retrieve their children from the secure areas.
We are serious about the safety and security of your children and want you to feel comfortable leaving your children in our care.
Do I Have to Give Money?
Tyro Christian Church does not ask or expect any guest to give to our church. In fact, we prefer you don't. Offering is for our members and regular attenders.
Do You Offer Other Activities Throughout the Week?
Sunday AM Services are at 8:30 & 11:00 AM (all ages).
Sunday School is at 10:00 AM (all ages).
Sunday PM Services are at 6:00 PM. During this time there is an adult service in the auditorium, along with Nursery, Children's, Teens, and College Age activities throughout our building.
We have several small groups (or home groups). Small groups meet in homes around the area, often serve food, have a good time and examine our lives and God's Word. Different groups meet on different nights of the week.
Throughout the year our membership participates in a large variety of other events. These events include: VBS, car show, men's groups, women's groups, retreats, summer youth camps, youth basketball camp, and much, much more!
